Molly Season Ends in Triumph With Great Day Out in Ely
On Saturday 24 January 2026 Black Annis travelled to Ely to celebrate the Ouse Washes Molly Day of Dance. After a day of excellent dancing in which some of our newer members excelled, Jan, Nancy and Stephanie won the coveted broom dance trophy with a combination of broom skills and doggie tricks. This is the 4th time Black Annis have taken the trophy in the last 6 years with Stephanie as the accompanying musician on each occasion,
Celebrating the Solstice
On Sunday 21 December Black Annis were delighted to be invited by Charnwood Grove to join in the Winter Solstice at Beacon Hall. The event was a special and fun occasion, the dancing ended with many of the audience joining in with our Special Molly Dance.
Dancing as Guests of Bakanalia Border Morris at Staunton Harold
Black Annis danced on Saturday 13 December with Bakanalia Border Morris at the Ferrers Centre, Staunton Harold. The sun shone and the atmosphere was festive.
Morris Federation Day of Dance, Sheffield
The last weekend in September saw Black Annis enjoying dancing with a number of different sides from all over the country at the Morris Federation Day of Dance in Sheffield
Singleton Cloggers Day of Dance
On Saturday 13 September Black Annis enjoyed a lovely day out in Poulton-Le-Fylde with Singleton cloggers. On the following day we escaped from the very wet Southport streets to dance in a beautiful old shopping arcade.
Barfolkfestival
Black Annis enjoyed a fun weekend, singing songs, playing games and chatting as friends camping in Barwell. We finished the festival with a great day of dance on Sunday 31 August at the 1620s House Donnington Le Heath and Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre
Dancing as guests of Leicester Morris at Black Horse Aylestone
Black Annis had a fine evening dancing with Leicester Morris. The weather held fine and the appreciative crowd braved the chill.
Morris Potty, Festival in Sheringham, Norfolk
Black Annis had a fabulous weekend in the seaside town of Sheringham dancing at the well organised and attended Potty festival of Morris. We also enjoyed swimming in the sea and consuming local fish and chips and delicious ice cream.

On Thursday 19 June we had a splendid evening wonderfully hosted by the owners of the location of Black Annis Bower.
Malcolm’s Big Birthday, 31 May
A fabulous evening with singing, ceildih dancing and delicious Indian Food, where the crowd of all ages enjoyed an inspired performance from Black Annis.
Windsor Morris Day of Dance, 10 May
Black Annis enjoyed a lovely day of dance in the beautiful, but very hot, town of Windsor with the fabulous Windsor Morris.
Hastings Jack in the Green, 3 – 5 May
The sun shone and Black Annis attended this fabulous seaside festival in numbers sharing many spectacular pictures and videos from a wonderful weekend on our social media accounts.
Leicester Old Town Festival 26 April
Black Annis enjoyed dancing in Leicester for the fabulous Old Town Festival. We performed in the Haymarket Shopping Centre, in John Lewis Ground Floor, where we were warmly hosted by the staff and, at the Medieval Fair in the Cathedral Gardens.
Oxford Folk Festival Saturday 12 April
Black Annis enjoyed a lovely day dancing in the beautiful city of Oxford as guests of the Oxford Folk Festival. The sun shone all day and we danced in the City Centre at the Castle and outside the famous Ashmolean Museum. There are 4 new videos of the event on our YouTube Channel
Black Annis at Red Fox Ceilidh Saturday 1 March
Black Annis very much enjoyed dancing a spot in the The Red Fox Ceilidh on Saturday 1 March. It was a really fun night and we very much enjoyed staying on and dancing to the fabulous GIG CB! Ceildih band.
